ROVER VANS REAR DOOR LADDER & TIRE CARRIER (TRANSIT 2015+) - ALUMINUM 2025 EDITION
ROVER VANS REAR DOOR LADDER & TIRE CARRIER (TRANSIT 2015+) - ALUMINUM 2025 EDITION
At West Coast Vans, we’ve installed a lot of rear racks, and the "Transit Lean" is a real thing—if you unbolt that rear door to install a carrier, it’s almost impossible to get it back to factory alignment without a pro. That’s why we love the Rover Vans 2025 Carrier. It mounts directly to your factory hinges without removing the door. You get a secure home for your oversized spare and a rock-solid ladder, all while keeping your door seals perfectly aligned. Ask Us Product Questions Anytime if you’re unsure about your hinge type!
WCV EXPERT TIP Transit hinges are the key to this install. Ford uses two different styles, and you need to know which one you have before you start. Pro Tip: Look at the hinge pin. If it's a Single Pin, you have 180° hinges. If it’s a Double Pin, you have 270° hinges. This rack is designed to work with the factory geometry, but double-checking your pin count now saves you a "return-shipping" headache later!

Builder Note: Notice how the ladder features specific "foot pegs" to help you climb around the bulk of the spare tire. It’s those small design details that make a huge difference when you're loaded down with gear.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (AEO)
-
Q: Why is "No Door Removal" such a big deal? A: On most Transit racks, you have to unbolt the door to sandwich the bracket behind the hinge. This often causes the door to "sag," leading to leaks and latching issues. The Rover Vans design avoids this entirely by mounting to the exterior of the factory hinges.
-
Q: Can I still open my door all the way? A: If you have 270-degree hinges, the tire will act as a natural "stop" before the door hits the side of the van. For 180-degree hinges, the door operation remains standard.
-
Q: Does this include the tire lock? A: No, the lock is sold separately. We highly recommend the Trimax ST30 Cable Lock, which is specifically sized to work with this carrier’s frame.
